    GTD Task Manager

We believe that Getting Things Done (GTD) is the most effective, time-tested methodology for managing tasks. It incorporates all levels of life (which David Allen calls "horizons") into a single workflow:

    1. Ground: Calendar/actions = Calendar, Actions
    2. Horizon 1: Projects = Tasks*
    3. Horizon 2: Areas of focus and accountability = Areas*
    4. Horizon 3: One- to two-year goals and objectives = Goals
    5. Horizon 4: Three- to five-year vision = Vision

*We've renamed "Projects" to "Tasks" and "Responsibilities" to "Areas" from the original methodology, as we believe these new names better describe their purpose.

    Plan and Manage Tasks

Tasks require multiple steps (actions) to complete. They're ideal for planning your actions to execute large chunks of work.

    1. Plan
Use the timeline view to roughly define timeframes for what you should be doing now and in the near future.
    2. Manage
Within each task, you can see related actions, progress, and linked Area, Goal, and Wiki items for instant access.
    3. Review
Regularly review your tasks to update their status. Use the Review tab to see overdue and upcoming reviews.

    Clearly See Your Next Actions

The central point of GTD is knowing what you should do next at any given moment. This template helps you find the right actions:

    • From the task
    • By context you're in
    • By available time
    • By energy you have
    • By goal, area, and vision

Align Your Work with Your Vision and Goals

It's crucial to focus on what's important to you. In Productivity OS, you can link Tasks, Actions, and Wiki with Goals and Vision. This allows you to see what each page refers to, keeping you on top of things from anywhere in the workspace.

    Develop and Track Habits

While Getting Things Done excels at managing tasks, it doesn't cover building new habits. To address this, we've implemented a Habits tracker.

It's accessible from the main dashboard and provides analytics on your daily performance.

    Establish a Morning Routine

"The Miracle Morning" is one of the best books describing the importance of a morning routine. It introduces Journaling, Affirmations, and Visualization. To use these, open the Daily page from the habits tracker and utilize the content within.

The SAVERS habits from "The Miracle Morning" are integrated into the habits tracker:

    • Silence
    • Affirmations
    • Visualization
    • Exercise
    • Reading
    • Scribing

    Organize Self-Improvement

"The Miracle Morning" includes Reading as a habit, and it's a well-known practice for self-improvement. "Sharpen the saw," as they say.

To assist you, we've integrated a reading planner and tracker into the workspace. Plan your reading list, keep track of books you've read, and highlight the most important notes for later reference.
